How often should I maintain my filter pads, including polishing pads, in my Fluval system?

Most filter pads should be replaced monthly and rinsed every two weeks for optimal performance. Polishing pads, however, may clog more quickly depending on the amount of debris in the aquarium and will require more frequent rinsing.
