Comparison of Polishing Pad and FilterFirst

Our polishing pad is only a mechanical filter which means it traps fine particles from the water. I do not know what filter you have but typically hobbyists use a combination of our FilterFirst dual-density filter pad, polishing pad, and activated carbon. Our FilterFirst filter pad traps large to small particles from the water then the water flows through to the polishing pad to trap fine particles from the water. Our Premium Activated Carbon removes organics that tint your water a yellowish-brown, odors, and much more. Since each one has a different purpose to get the best results you would use all three filtration products along with biological filter media such as bio rings.
