Can this take the place of the round tube filters I buy? If so how would you fasten it, so it doesn't come loose?

Please confirm if this is design meant to rinse and continue using for a full season. requiring fine to avoid algae from getting into filter and easy rinsing

Is this similar to matala media, can it be used in a marine aquarium sump?

How does this koi pond carbon compare with your premium activated carbon aquarium filter charcoal media?

Our Premium activated carbon and Pond carbon are both made of bituminous coal which has been heat-treated making it active. Which is a perfect material to remove organics from water. For Pond carbon, this is where the process ends, but for our Premium carbon, it goes through a series of cleaning steps making it cleaner to trap contaminants and toxins from your aquarium and pond water. When carbon is activated the pores are packed with ash that a simple rinse will not wash away. Our cleaning process removes most of the ash giving a ton more room for the carbon to grab more contaminants. Another benefit is the carbon is clean.

Because our Coarse Pond Filter pad is non-woven there is no way to get an accurate micron rating. Our polishing pads are woven and have micron ratings of 50, 100, and 200. Our Filter sponges are rated in PPI (pores per square inch)
