Can I throw the bio balls inside the tank water?

You can put our bio balls inside of a tank and beneficial bacteria will grow on them. Typically you want to place the bio balls in a chamber or bag after a filter pad. The filter pad will trap most of the free floating debris before getting to the bio balls.
